To help keep the environment fair, safe, friendly, and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these club rules.
1. Payment and Arrival
- Please pay upon arrival before playing. Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer, or EFTPOS.
- Write your name in the attendance book.
- Payment is required regardless of how long you play.
- If you are unable to pay, please inform Paulo or Joe.
2. Fair Use of Tables and Consideration for Others
- If no one is waiting, you may stay at the table and play as long as you like.
- When the club is full, and players are waiting, please:
- Have a short warm-up
- Play one match
- After the match, both players leave the table
- Take a 3-minute rest before playing again so others have a chance
- You are welcome to join another table if one becomes available.
- If many players are waiting, please consider playing doubles so more people can participate.
- Please also pick up nearby balls when you can and be mindful of others waiting to play.
- Support beginners and lower-level players where possible. A friendly and inclusive club depends on everyone helping each other.
3. Respect and Behaviour
- Treat everyone with respect.
- No harassment, offensive language, bullying, or aggressive behaviour.
- Please do not impose your views on others or start arguments about personal, political, religious, or social issues.
- If a disagreement happens, move away and allow things to settle.
- We are here to play table tennis, enjoy ourselves, and create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
4. Sportsmanship
- No throwing bats, shouting, or swearing in any language.
- Treat opponents, officials, and club organisers with respect.
- Respect decisions made by officials and organisers, even if you disagree.
- Shake hands or fist bump after matches.
- Win and lose with grace.
- Please avoid making excuses after a match and instead acknowledge your opponent’s effort.
5. Cleanliness and Equipment
- Bring a towel if you sweat a lot.
- Please help keep the playing area clean and safe.
- Clean tables and the floor when changing sides or leaving the table if needed.
- Keep storage areas tidy, including nets, scoreboards, clipboards, and other club equipment.
- Help pack up before you leave if needed.
6. Personal Belongings and Borrowed Equipment
- Do not take, borrow, or use another player’s belongings without their permission.
This includes bats, cleaners, glue, towels, balls, or any other personal items. - If you do not have a bat, please speak to Paulo and he will be happy to help you find one to use or show you where to get one.
- If you borrow a club bat or any club equipment, please return it after use.
7. Health
- If you are sick, coughing, or sneezing, please do not attend.
8. Robot Use
- Please use the robot considerately.
- Check club occupancy before using the robot
- If all tables are in use, please prioritise playing with other players
- If the club becomes busy, stop using the robot and return it to storage
- Avoid monopolising the robot during busy times
- Limit robot sessions to 10 minutes when others are waiting
- Use a 3-minute break before another turn
- Do not set the robot to unsafe speeds
- Use barriers where available
- Return all balls to the robot after use
- If you are the last user, return the robot to the storage room
9. Care for the Venue and Pack Up
- Please respect the venue and help look after club equipment.
- Before leaving the hall, take a moment to look around and see whether tables, barriers, or other equipment need to be returned to the storage room. This is especially important when only a few people are left.
- Please do not assume that someone else will do it. Helping with packing up is part of being a player and supporting the club. If everyone helps a little, the work becomes much easier for everyone.
- When needed, please assist with returning tables, barriers, and other equipment so the hall is left tidy and ready to close properly.
